Workshop: Society and Space — How to Research Cities?
On 14 September 2024, during the Ukraine Urban Forum, UNUN organized a workshop titled “Society and Space: How to Research Cities?” for 50 participants, bringing together Ukrainian NGOs working in urban research for the first time. Participating organizations included CEDOS, Restart, Ro3kvit, New Housing Policy, and Urban Reform.
The workshop provided a platform to discuss research methodologies, share experiences, and address challenges faced in wartime conditions. Ukrainian and European organizations with extensive urban research experience explored different methods of city research, analyzed the impact of research on practice, and examined real-world cases. The program featured presentations from CEDOS, Urban Reform, Ro3kvit, ReStart, GIZ, ORG, and the Dutch-Ukrainian collaborative project Panorama Ukraine, alongside group discussions and panel sessions.
